A small update of my airbrush efforts. I'm guessing I should be able to do more work done with the gun, but I'm just learning.
Now I can move to the brush work.
So far I managed to do only the eyes on Eistein, but I hope I can do some decent amount of work next few days.
cheers

Anker Guy - some more work done
I did some more work on the Team(w)Orc guys. This time I'm gonna present you Bugne, who's technically an ogre, but still I'm counting him as a part of my Orc bunch.
As you can see I was focusing on the leather elements. Hat, wrist band and the front bottle are mostly done now. Rest still needs some work, especially shoes. I'm not entirely sure how to paint the throusers, but I'm guessing white and red stripes should contrast nicely with the blue-greenish sea creatures.
And here some close ups of the details.
cheers

Anker guy
And here are few solo photos of the 'Anker guy'.
Colours are slightly 'patchy' (to put it mildly) and the skin looks extremely messy, but I'm experimenting with techniques a bit here. Some preshading mixed with building volumes while applying base layer.
Might be a total disaster, but I feel I need to give it at least a try;]

Team(w)Orc;]
Here is a group photo of the 'minis' I stated today. I used a quotation mark here, because nothing on this photo is really mini. Just to give you the scale here (I should add a coin or something I guess), the smallest guy, the one with the anker is 50mm tall, and if I put all three parts of this massive bust together it's twice as high as him.
So far I managed to preshade all parts, especially flesh, and put basic colours on most of the leather elements. But I have a feeling already, that this bunch is gonna be huge fun to paint.

TwistedBrushes open for commissions
I've been thinking about that for a while now, but finally decided to act on it.
So if any of you, or someone you know, likes my style of painting, and would be interested in having a piece painted by me, just send me an email (mslusarska@gmail.com), and we can discuss things in details.
During next few days I'll prepare some more information in a dedicated part of the blog. At this point I'm mostly interested in bigger scale, 54mm and larger, busts and vehicles. It doesn't really matter if it's historical or sf/fantasy, I'm focused on producing the highest quality projects to your complete satisfaction.
cheers

Hendon Model Show 19/05/2013 very brief report
Below you can find few photos I managed to take during the 'Hendon Model Show 2013'. The show took place in Royal Air Force Museum in London on 19th of May.
Sadly there are no photos from the museum itself, or clubs displays, placed between the exhibits, because the lighting conditions were way too poor for the camera. But the museum is pretty impressive and for free, so if you have no idea what to do with a rainy Sunday, and you're around, it's a place worth seeing.
The show itself was rathe small and local, mostly focused on airplanes and military vehicles. What closest to my heart, figures, was gathered in one class: 'Figures: any figure any scale'. As the result we had more than 30 entries, from small 28mm fantasy miniatures, through busts and bigger scale minis to big dinosaurs. But well like I said, figures weren't the main focus there.
But with the lovely kits I bought/won during that day, next year I guess I'll be entering something in other categories as well;]
Some of the results:
Conrad Mynett - first place in Figures with Okie
John Keys - runner up in Space & Sci-Fi with Newark
Marta Slusarska - runner up in Figures with Viking Chief

El Markes - almost there
Yet another bust is almost finished.
Few more little things that need to be fixed, and I can put him on the shelf marked as 'finished'.
Not my best work, that's for sure, but I'm still happy that I managed to paint it.
cheers
